In her mind, it's better that they died quickly (she takes some comfort in that) than have died slowly. Sometimes what can be viewed as being brutal is often merciful in many people's eyes... unfortunately, Filaire isn't of the mindset to think past: End the Suffering, when there could be a better way of 'easing/curing the suffering.)
