Arctic Brier (Storm Scrub)

This low to the ground plant resembles earths infamous thorn brier in many ways and is believed to be a variation adapted for the colder climate. 1/2 inch long thorns riddle the entire length of the twisting plant making traversing without proper gear painful and potentially cripling. Arctic hunters seeking shelter from both preditors and the elements have been known to take shelter deep within the patch and wait out the situation. Although bitter beyond belief the roots of Arctic Brier are edible and certain individuals have been known to carry around small flasks of brier root juice for cases where they have eaten something the shouldn't have. The juice, when concentrated, is so bitter and vile that it can induce illness.
