Mimics are silicon based life forms that can change their form into anything imaginable, including nearly exact copies of anyone they've seen. They are few in number and very dangerous when dispatched. A single mimic can wipe out entire populations of people before it was discovered and they took delight in it.

Once killed, its true form slowly seeps through the assumed form in growing patches of green, being unable to hold the external features. In a matter of hours, it would completely disintegrate.
