These are large elk-like creatures that favor the Alpine regions of Cyantia. They have thick pale bluish fur, with the males having a dark blue mane and thick antlers that curl around their heads. They seem to have a preference to not kill predators who speak, though give warning to inexperienced hunters.

The herd tends to be lead by a head buck, and the bucks do indeed have harems of one to four females. They have a very complex culture where the bucks will compete for their wives, to impress them to join their harem. The other females, also have to approve of a new female before the male can impress her. Young does will leave their herds and herd together, as will young bucks for a year to two years when they turn two. They will not reach full maturity until they are four, males when they're five. Snowflower's herd consisted of himself, his wives, his brothers, his brothers' wives, and their sons and daughters.

They have a lifespan of up to fifty years, with the elders often living under the protection of their progeny once they pass childbearing/making age as teachers.
