Donovan Priade

He had a brother named Mikael who had no gifts. His father hid him in a cathedral where nobody would ever know about him and he wouldn't be killed. Although he was friendly with his brother before, on the night of his ascension to Judge, he had him dragged out of the cathedral and executed him himself to prove his impartiality.
In his search for a worthy successor he had many children. He only paid attention to each child until the next one came along. He declared his seventh child Jordan to be his successor. Then two years later, Blake was born.
He wanted Blake aborted. When that didn't happen he refused to see the child at all and ordered that he never be anywhere that he might see him. Donovon didn't name him. He wasn't there for his first birthday,.. his second or third,... It wasn't until he was ten that he first met him, only to tell him how much he hated his son's existance.
In truth, he was frightened of Blake's abilities which far exceeded his own. He warned Jordan about Blake's abilities.
He secretly allowed Blake to have a relationship with Saida Margote so he could use the relationship to find where Saida got her Sinthe equipment.
He suffered a series of heart attacks, lingering for two weeks before he died.
He had his Final Will orders for Blake's life be made open only upon his death, which involved an arranged marriage and moving to Canada.
