A FireFruit is a native Cyantian citrus-type fruit about the size of a large grapefruit (~3kg) that grow on a heavy shrub/bush. They are large and spikey like a Durian, with a sharp aroma. The pulp and juice of the fruit is roughly as hot as a Habañero, and the rind has approximately 10 times the concentration of capsaican.
A firefruit differs from a durian in that it has up to 5 seeds, and the pulp has a strong wintergreen scent. The pulp and seeds also have a strong capsaican percentage.
Pulp rates between 75,000 and 100,000 scovilles Rind/shell is around 650,000 to 800,000.
Once peeled (you don't dare do it with your fingers) it is juiced in similar fashion to a grapefruit. You don't ever cut it in half and eat it like some people do grapefruit... the chance of getting it in your eye is too great a risk.
