In a process similar to those of Fire Dice, these have two chemicals in their bodies which when mixed produce a strong endothermic reaction (in a process controlled by nanites), making them seem to breath ice.
Ice dice are attracted to fire in order to put it out before it becomes a threat. (AD Day 7, strip 5)
