madrigals mourning - a curious annual flower which always grows three differently colored blossoms. The blossoms are turned down with petals that form a narrow cone which curls up slightly only at the end much like an inverted saxophone. The actual colors of the blossoms vary based on soil conditions and climate, but scarlet/orange/yellow, crimson/amethyst/blue, and violet/blue/cyan are the most common color groups. They grow best in full sun and slightly acidic, semi-dry soil.
