Star (Starship)
A huge transport ship owned by the survivors of the plague in The Underground which was kept on a launching platform in the Volcano Burrows.
It was a sophisticated ship, including such things as touch panels, but had been stripped of all its electronics prior to their arrival. They were attempting to rebuild it from salvaged parts to use in their fight against the Irincos, but it was only partly functional when the Irincos bombed the base to eliminate the Fox.
Having no choice, they launched the ship to escape, but unfortunately flew too close to a Gate when pursued, and got pulled in. They were not outfitted for subspace travel, but having already entered, the gate operators did the best they could by redirecting them to arrive at the nearest inhabitable planet - Earth.
The ship sustained severe damage in the transport and was barely steerable... they just managed to make a crash landing (though through the White House and into the back yard).
Due to its severe damage, repairs would be difficult even if it could be retrieved from the crash site.
