• He's the son of Taun and Dior, a union which Taun did not desire, but regardless of that, she wanted her chick.
• Taun was forced to abandon him when Flar smashed his egg to force Taun to save her egg instead during a raid by the local Shivae and Gryphons to drive out Dior and his overly-aggressive pack of scythetails.
• Duske found his egg and persuaded Mura to free him and treat his injured leg. She then took him home to raise.

• Does not understand shivae speech at birth, but after 3 months has learned it.
• Recovered from his injury and no longer limps.

• Zaya is Shivae for frog.
