Mimics are silicon based life forms that can change their form into anything imaginable, including nearly exact copies of anyone they've seen. They are few in number and very dangerous when dispatched. A single mimic can wipe out entire populations of people before it was discovered and they took delight in it. [1]

The one seen in the strip had three golden eyes when it first appeared, then in fulfilling its programming the camouflaged metallic skin covering the creature glimmered and began to change as tiny nano machines worked within it and around it to change its form. (AD Day 19, strip 43)
